The leading suppliers of the standard machines have had to make some major adjustments in production levels, and two companies (JCB in the United Kingdom and Komatsu, with production facilities on in Italy) have started manufacturing their products in North America to offset rising costs firm producing machines overseas and importing them to the domestic market. JCB has a new manufacturing facility in Pooler, Ga. Komatsu has opened a new facility for utility vehicle assembly and production in Newbury, S.C. Back in 1998, only three companies made their machines in North America. Today, six out of seven companies are solar sourcing machines from domestic manufacturing sites. The only company importing standard machines panels is Terex, info which acquired Fermec in the U.K. from CNH a few years back.
